We are currently hiring for the 2024 season.
Sub Edge Farm is a 300 acre certified organic farm along the Farmington River in Farmington and Avon, Conn. Sub Edge raises grass-fed beef, pork and poultry as well as organic fruits, vegetables and culinary herbs. Farmington is adjacent to West Hartford, the largest town in New England and is 2 hours between Boston and NYC and has lots of opportunities for outdoor activities.
FARM CREW
Our farm crew members work in all aspects of vegetable production. Responsibilities include harvesting, weeding, wash-and-pack and other farm tasks. Farm crew members work well alone or with a group. Must be able to lift 5o pounds and work outside in all weather conditions. Farm experience preferred but not required. Must be able to work average hours of Tuesday-Saturday 8 am - 4 pm, April-October. Part time mornings also available
Compensation: $16.50/hr. plus weekly produce and eggs
WEED CREW
Our weed crew members work mornings in a fast paced environment. Responsibilities include weed managment in all stages and other farm tasks as needed. Weed crew works in all weather, hours are 8-12.

GREENHOUSE TECH
Our greenhouse tech is responsible for maintaining the farm’s five high tunnels and propagation house. Work includes scheduling and seeding for transplant production in the prop house and in-ground production in the high tunnels. Other farm tasks performed as needed.
Compensation: starting at $17.50/hr. plus weekly produce and eggs
HARVEST CREW LEADER
The harvest crew leader is responsible for leading the crew in daily harvest operations and oversees the harvest, washing, packing and storage of crops. Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly. Must be able to work min hours of Tuesday-Saturday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, April-October. Farm experience required.
Compensation: starting at $18/hr. plus weekly produce and eggs
